It will not change for jBPM 3.3. The discussion about this is being held in the pvm forum. So if it changes, it changes for jBPM 4.0. Might be that some (all?) backwardscompatibility will be available. -

tom.baeyens Dec 21, 2007 9:07 AM (in response to brittm)processinstance and token will be merged into a class called execution in jpdl 4. on the PVM-level, only execution will exist. it might be that specific process languages like jPDL introduce a JpdlProcessInstance and a JpdlExecution. in which case JpdlProcessInstance would inherit from JpdlExecution.
jpdl 3.x will remain token / process instance as is.
