    help on jboss-portal-2.2

      Hello

I build and install jboss-portal-2.2 from cvs head and it works fine.

But i need to understand the relationship between the packed components within jboss-portal.sar.

I unjar this sar file and it is consisted of :

      conf lib portal-cms.sar portal-core.war portal-server.war WEB-INF
      images META-INF portal-cms.war portal-samples.war portlet-styles

i think It is important for users to understand the relationship of these war files.
In other words, please illustrate the big picture of the jbossportal.

      I assume that:

(1)one application server (like 4.0.3SP1) installation has one portal container.
(2)one portal contaner can have a few portal instances.
(3)Then what is the jboss-portal.sar? Is it the portal container embeding the default portal instance?
(4)is portal-server.war the servlet which interface with the servlet container? So it is the entry point, right?
(5)is portal-core.war the portal container with default portal embeded in it?
(6)How does the portal objects are deployed and related to each other?
(5)What is the relationship between different deploy description xml files?
(7)If an external war file (like forums.war ) is deployed, how does the system change the internal status (such as portal tree - right term?) ?
      (8) i cannot find any...-object.xml file in the jboss-portal.sar file, but it is described in the documentation. why?

The existing documentation is good but is not enough. Especially, it does not illustrate these big and important things clearly!

      Best regards
      Yang

what is the scope of pages defined within one war file?

Does it mean war files will define pages and then all these pages can be used/arranged through management UI?

            Hi
I am scratching my head over the same question?
            Why this SAR file?

Have you figured it out? It would be helpful if you have gained any understanding that you can pass on

            thanks in advance
