Can we change the name of default page 'default'?

Can we change the name/title of the default page of portal ('default') into, say, 'Home' without changing the page?

Yes. I used my search page as my default. the key is that you must define at least one page for the portal.

i think we have to edit

default-object.xml

in portal-core-sar, but this gives me always errors, e. g. changing

<page-name>default</page-name>

to something else. is there anybody who could give detailed help?

..i also tried to login as admin, create a page "Home" and destroy the default page. however, i would like to work from the code-side ;-)

ok, it works:

change

<property>
 <name>portal.defaultObjectName</name>
 <value>default</value>
</property>

and

<page-name>default</page-name>

as well as all the

<parent-ref>default</parent-ref>

to whatever you want (`Home`). i am using portal 2.4.

So after change, it looks like these:


portal.defaultObjectName
Home


<page-name>Home</page-name>

<parent-ref>Home</parent-ref>

But I could NOT find the file "default-object.xml " in the directory you mentioned, I could only see "default-portal.xml" there. Btw, I am using 2.0.

in portal 2.4 the location of the file is

$PORTAL_HOME/core/src/resources/portal-core-sar/conf/data/default-object.xml

...and you don't need to change the

<parent-ref>default</parent-ref>
