portal 2.2 vs 2.01

hi! i have being working on jboss portal 2.2 with mySQL 4.1, connector 3.1 and winCRAP XP since 2 weeks ago, and because of the problems i tried the portal 2.0.1 and i discover that works fine,

so to the ones that are trying with the new portal 2.2, use the 2.0.1 version ;)

update informatiocn!!! the portal 2.2 cms admin-->editor html does not work!!
i cant change the color's of the letters the size etc, + using mozilla firefox 1.5 spanish version you cannot see the html code.

I agree Portal 2.0.1 works fine and is much simpler to configure and documentation is almost there.

Portal 2.2 is missing documentation, has features that are either complicated or does not trace information on what is going wrong or missing. In addition, there are major bugs. It's a real pain.

But there is a huge gap in features between the two (much better CMS, deployment package, and bunch of others). Concepts are better, documentation is missing, and quality is certainly not production level, perhaps beta1.

I 'd like it better to have a real 2.2 production level release than a 2.4. We'll see what is coming next.

Let me be clear on this :

2.0.1 is stable because we worked hard to fix issues that were in 2.0, we did not add major features between 2.0 and 2.0.1. We released 2.0.1 while developping 2.2.

Likewise now we develop 2.4 and we work at the same time on fixing issues in branches 2.2 and 2.0.

You can also look in JIRA http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBPORTAL which gives a clear view of the development path we follow.

JBoss Portal 2.2 adds significants improvements over 2.0 and yet we start to deliver the first RC of 2.2.1 as of today :

i asume the rc versions are a beta of the final release.

i have to download the portal2.0.1 or the portal 2.0.1rc3?

the portal 2.2 its going to have a new version 2.2.1 but you release the beta 2.2.1rc1 that right?

2.0.1 is the final

2.2.1RC1 = 2.2 + bug fixes, so you can consider it better than 2.2

2.0.1 is the final-->slide

2.2.1rc1 = 2.2 + fixed bugs;-->jackrabbit

2.4= 2.0.1+ manager portlet like 2.2?


HOW can i change the html editor in portal 2.2? it doesn`t work
