1. Re: Single Sign On with Alfresco Portlet
soshah Feb 22, 2007 4:53 PM (in response to newto23)Portlets receive the same authenticated state that you get when you create an authenticated session when logging into the Portal
So all you have to do is login to your portal, and the Alfresco portlet running inside this portal will be in this authenticated state
(authenticated state = Principal object with its proper roles etc)

2. Re: Single Sign On with Alfresco Portlet
newto23 Feb 22, 2007 5:24 PM (in response to newto23)Hi,
Even after authenticating in the JBoss portal server, I found that the Alfresco CMS portlet still having a link as Login(guest), which means I have to login again.
Thanks.. -
3. Re: Single Sign On with Alfresco Portlet
soshah Feb 22, 2007 5:29 PM (in response to newto23)Thats probably because Alfresco may not be using the same authentication infrastrusture (JAAS) that JBoss Portal uses.
Question 1: When you logged in the first time, was it via the builtin JBoss Portal Login screen
Question 2: When you click the Login link from Alfresco Portlet, are you on the same Login screen from earlier, or its an "Alfresco Login Screen"
Thanks -
4. Re: Single Sign On with Alfresco Portlet
newto23 Feb 22, 2007 5:32 PM (in response to newto23)Ans 1 : Yes, I logged in through the JBoss login page.
Ans 2 : It takes me to the Alfresco Login page.
Thanks.. -
5. Re: Single Sign On with Alfresco Portlet
soshah Feb 22, 2007 6:19 PM (in response to newto23)Then that is probably the reason why your Alfresco portlet is in non-authenticated state.
btw- why do you need to login to the JBoss Portal way if you are using the Alfresco service.
You should be able to login straight to the Alfresco service via their login page that you get in step 2
Thanks -
6. Re: Single Sign On with Alfresco Portlet
julien1 Feb 22, 2007 6:25 PM (in response to newto23)Actually Alfresco should rely on the request user principal to provide an SSO. At least as an option.
Do they have pluggable authentication in their machinery ? -
7. Re: Single Sign On with Alfresco Portlet
newto23 Feb 22, 2007 10:59 PM (in response to newto23)My portal page has some other portlets also and the Home page has the User Portlet for login.
We are planning to have the login only through the JBoss portal server authentication.
Regarding pluggable authentication, I am not sure, but found some xml files in the alfresco war to configure for JAAS and LDAP.
Thanks.. -

11. Re: Single Sign On with Alfresco Portlet
bensonfungjava Oct 26, 2007 12:00 PM (in response to newto23)If the JBOSS portal and Alfresco are running on the separate server, how to implement the SSO between them?

mrostan Dec 13, 2007 8:56 AM (in response to newto23)This post in the Alfresco forums: http://forums.alfresco.com/viewtopic.php?p=28282
gives a way to implement SingleSignOn to Alfresco on JBossPortal
I've tested it with Alfresco 2.9.0 (built from sources) on JBossPortal 2.6.2 and JBoss AS 4.2.2 -

14. Re: Single Sign On with Alfresco Portlet
piergiorgiolucidi Mar 6, 2009 6:26 AM (in response to newto23)Depends on which version of Alfresco you would like to use and what you must do for your integration.
Generally you must patch some Alfresco source code, on Alfresco 3 too :(
If you want to deploy Alfresco Webscripts as portlets you can see my post here:
http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=145471
If you want SSO on Alfresco Client Portlet you need to implement a JBoss Portlet Filter for Alfresco Client Portlet in this way (Alfresco Forum):
http://forums.alfresco.com/en/viewtopic.php?p=28282
And then you must patch some Alfresco source code, in Alfresco 3 is necessary to patch getUserAgent() method to fix deployment on portals.
Hope this helps.
