Copy to dashboard - Not saving settings

I have an issue when I copy a portlet to a dashboard. My guess is that I get a new instance of the portlet.

Can I get the exact same instance? I have user settings in the portlets that are pretty much needed for the functionality.

It should be the same instance.

Try to copy the News page, it has 2 instances of the same portlet with different properties. It should still show th 2 different instances after copy.

Or what "user settings" are you talking about ?
