jboss portal jboss-portal-2.6.6.GA-bundled intallatios probl

hi, i have a problem with the installation of jboss-portal-2.6.6.GA-bundled.
I download java_ee_sdk-5_01-windows and jboss-portal-2.6.6.GA-bundled. i have install the server and it show me that is set up and online, but when i run run.bat it stops and it shows "..19more". i leave it for 1 hour but it doesn't finish. when i go to http://localhost:8080/portal it says hhtp error 404. i unistall everything and install it again and in the installation of the portal was success ( in the cmd it shows me the time ). i login as admin the portal works fine , but in the backgroud the cmd was running and it was stop and says "..9 more". after 1 hour i close it , i turn off the pc, and when i open it and start the server in http://localhost:8080/portal it shows me again http error 404.
can anyone tell me whats going on? or can anyone tell me how can i install server+ portal with analytic steps?

Im not sure right off hand whats going on here, but Ill see what I can find. In the mean time, you can try taking a look at a tutorial I have written for installing jboss, configuring runtime options, and setting up remote config with eclipse. It can be found at:

If thetikigod's turorial does not get you running, please post the contents of the console log (everything in the command window, starting with the command you entered).

i have noticed something strange. i uninstall the server, and install only the jboss portal and it works fine, ( except that the login doesn't work.when i try to login as adminstrator it tells me that the password is incorrect. ). i will uninstall everything and install it again and if i have problem i will reply to you and i will give you and the log. thanks for your quick answers!

( peterj: i don't type any command, i just run the run.bat. and how can i copy all the log? it show only same lines and then they desapear with the update. ) ..sorry for the multiple reply!

BY "i just run the run.bat" do you mean that you duble-click run.bat within Explorer? If so, don't to that. Instead, open a Command Prompt (it's under Accessories in the Start menu), 'cd' to the bin directory, and then enter:

run

Wait until you see the "Started in xxx seconds" log entry (or until there is no more output for about 20-30 seconds), then use the mouse cursor to select all of the text in the Command Prompt window (you can scroll the window to get to the start of the text).

If the output is too long, you might have to increase the size of the buffer - you can do this from the command prompt properties dialog.

If you still have problems getting the text, let me know and I will give you another alternative.

i have run the run.bat like the way you tell me but at the command prompt it says "..29 more "and not the "Started in xxx seconds" text. i can login to the portal as admin , and the portlal works fine. is the installation done? or do you want to send you the log to see what it happends? ( when i run the portal i have to run the run.bat? )

What you are telling me is that you open a command prompt, you go to the jboss-home/bin directory, you enter "run" and at that time what appears in your command prompt window is EXACTLY the following:

C:\jboss\bin>run
..29 more

Nothing more, no other lines, just that one line immediatly after the run command?

Maybe. But without knowing what is on the command line I cannot tell.
