Invoking web applications from portlet

Hi,
I am new to portal environment and have worked in jsp/servlet/springs .
My Experience in portlets is writing only two portlets for the current portal.
Any one please guide me in creating a portlet which should call another whole web application in the portal.Is this possible via a singleportlet?

I found it myself.downloaded the IFrame portlet
n it works fantastic
