1. Re: @ManyToMany relations. Should it work?
adamw Mar 24, 2009 10:55 AM (in response to jrv)Hello,
It should work ... maybe it's the inhertince + many-to-many combination. Could you create a JIRA bug and attach a testcase?

jrv Mar 25, 2009 7:34 AM (in response to jrv)Hi Adam,
thanks for replying. I raised JIRA issue http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/hibernate/browse/HHH-3830
Sorry for the link in the description. I can't edit it to repair the link. I think I will post testcase in day or two.

jrv Mar 31, 2009 5:15 AM (in response to jrv)Hi,
I have finally added the testcase. It contains data objects, Daos, example of code and configuration file for Spring. I hope you will be able to run it. Could you please look at it?
Thanks, jrv -

jagin Apr 6, 2009 2:52 AM (in response to jrv)Hello,

adamw Apr 8, 2009 3:44 AM (in response to jrv)Hello,
not really, I didn't have any time to look at it yet. If you are in a hurry, maybe you could try tracing it in the code?

7. Re: @ManyToMany relations. Should it work?
jrv Apr 8, 2009 7:24 AM (in response to jrv)Hi,
can you tell me where are the source codes for envers 1.2.0.GA-hibernate-3.3 version? I have downloaded some source codes from http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/hibernate/core/branches/envers-hibernate-3.3 but they didn't match to my binaries. -
8. Re: @ManyToMany relations. Should it work?
adamw Apr 8, 2009 9:05 AM (in response to jrv)Hello,
yes, that's the place. I forgot to do a tag on release, so the only way to get the exact source is to find the revision on the date of the release.
But anyway, I guess it will be better if you try the trunk version first, maybe the bug is already fixed - I don't think so, but you never know :)

Is there any known workaround for this?

adamw Apr 27, 2009 11:32 AM (in response to jrv)Hello,
no, not really - do you also encouter this issue? In what setup? Do you also use Seam? Any help on narrowing it down, and possibly, creating a command-line test case would be great.

13. Re: @ManyToMany relations. Should it work?
jrv Apr 29, 2009 4:25 AM (in response to jrv)Hi,
I made some progress. The problem was(is) in PersistentCollectionChangeWorkUnit class. In the release version there is badly computed referencingPropertyName:referencingPropertyName = role.substring(entityName.length() + 1);
which is corrected in svn commit number 15935:String ownerEntityName = ((AbstractCollectionPersister) collectionEntry.getLoadedPersister()).getOwnerEntityName(); referencingPropertyName = collectionEntry.getRole().substring(ownerEntityName.length() + 1);
which works fine for me. So I was able to build actual version in envers-hibernate-3.3 branche which solved my problem.
But then I run into HHH-2763 issue http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/hibernate/browse/HHH-2763
which I solved by patching hibernate-core CollectionEntry.class (solution is described here http://www.coderanch.com/t/217691/Object-Relational-Mapping/java/hibernate-AssertionFailure-collection-was-not). -
14. Re: @ManyToMany relations. Should it work?
adamw Apr 29, 2009 9:16 AM (in response to jrv)Maybe I'm tired, but the released version is from march, and r15935 is from february, so this fix should be in 1.2.0, but you say that it isn't?
HHH-2736 is really a tough one ;)
