JBoss AS 4.2.2 GA with JMS 1.4.0.SP3 with JDK 1.4.2 client?

Can a JDK 1.4.2 JMS client connect to a JBoss AS 4.2.2 GA with JMS 1.4.0.SP3 server?

I have yet to find a combination of JMS client jars (JMS Client 1.3, 1.4) that work with JDK 1.4.2.

I don't believe that JBAS 4.2.2 can actually run with JDK 1.4 (even on client).

We have stopped supporting JDK 1.4 since JBAS 4.2 requires JDK 1.5.

Any suggestions on how to bridge the JMS 1.4 server into an application running JDK 1.4.2 with a 1.0.1.SP5 JMS client?

Is it possible to use the JBoss Bridge in 1.4 to connect to a Jboss 4.0.4 App server with JMS 1.0.1.SP5?
