    How Do I Run JBoss Messaging TestSuite in Q1 2008

      My goal is to get some version of JBM unit / integration tests working.

      I am trying to run the JBoss Messaging Functional tests by following the instructions on:

      http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=JBossMessagingBuildInstructions.

      tangent: If these are out of date and there are newer instructions please advise.
      I have seen 6 sets of instructions for JBM tests.

      I am able to get through step 3.

      When I check the results in

      ...messaging-head/tests/output/reports/html/index.html

      I find that ALL of the tests in the following packages fail:

      Looks like a problem with the installation of the MinaService. But the directions do not reference anything about this service. Also as a first pass I have no problem using a mock.jar/fake.jar collection. But neither do I have a problem using real integration tests.

      Can you also let me know how to run tests individually?

      Eventually I'd like to be able to run against other vendor's implementations.

          I've not been able to reproduce the problem.
          Do you have a complete stack trace corresponding to this IllegalArgumentException?
          Can you also copy the definition of the MinaService bean from src/etc/server/default/deploy/jbm-beans.xml?

            Thank you so much for your reply.

            I am following the directions at url: http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=JBossMessagingBuildInstructions. BTW I added the workaround for je-3.2.44.jar. I get up to the step 3 where I execute: ./build.sh report and get the error I reported. From step 1. I checked out the head yesterday.

            I will need more clarification as to the target of the jbm-beans.xml file you mentioned above. I can not find that file on my system. I am guessing that these instructions are out of date and I will need to install the AS before I can get the tests working. I am including the stacktrace and the FIT test results below. thnx in advance.

              I think I found out what the bug is.
              Can you do me a favor to confirm what I suspect?

              to 
               <parameter>TCP</parameter>

              and rerun the tests?

              It seems that JBoss Microcontainer is confused between the 2 constructors of MinaService.
              I don't get the problem on my JVM (1.5.0_13-b05 on Linux) but I don't have access to a Windows box to check it on the same JVM than yours.

                Nice! That worked. Only one selector test fails.

                Could you give me a pointer to info on debugging individual tests?
