    Memory leak in IE6

    alsha

      Hi *,

memory leaks in IE6 (WinXP, RF3.2.2GA).

      Just go to

      http://livedemo.exadel.com/richfaces-demo/richfaces/treeNodesAdaptor.jsf?c=treeNodesAdaptor&tab=usage

      and click between Tree/Tree adapter/Recursive Tree adapter/

Each click takes 2-3Mb of memory away.

          nobody cares?

guys, the same is with FF2 - browser process takes more and more memory, performance degrades. Am I the only one, who notice it ?

There ARE mem leaks in IE6. Everyone knows. I am not sure RichFaces guys will answer for problems they are not able to fix. The only fix that works more or less with IE6 is prgramming "destructors" in JS. Given the fact IE6 is something like 7 years old and IE7 is replacing it day after day (for those who don't migrate to something else), I doubt this will be done...

As for FF2, well, that happens. That happens even without RichFaces: I have 2 gmial open right now and my Firefox sucks 191 MB of memory.

There where NO memory leaks in RF 3.1.2 (the version, i used before), neither in IE6, nor in FF2.

So, I think it is possible to avoid them in RF3.2.2 too.

The memory consumption increases whith every refresh of the page - this is realy bad. Such a software can not be used in pruductive env.

your topic was just lost among anther ones. As for leaks - latest was fixed for poll component in latest 3.3.0 snapshots.. So, yes we care about it. I've asked our QA team point you to existent bugs for leaks or create new one according your info.
