Seam and Captcha

Hi all! Im using Jboss Seam 1.1.6 and Jboss AP 4.0.5GA.

Im trying to use the captcha libraries that are integrate in the org.jboss.seam.captcha package. The problem is that i dont know how to take the String value for the image. I was trying to use Captcha, CaptchaService, CaptchaServlet objects but i dont know how to take it.

I registered the servlet in the web.xml and i can generate and see the JPG image.

Can somebody help me to get the String value of it?

I searched in the forum and i dont get some similar question.

You don't need to get the string value out of it, the Captcha component takes care of that for you. Take a look at the seamspace example (view/register.xhtml) to see how it is used.

Hi Shane,

Is it possible to override the message returned by the Captcha component when the input is incorrect?

Right now, it displays the String "input characters did not match".

I noticed this is defined in an annotation named CaptchaResponse that is applied to Captcha.getResponse().

Can I override this in messages.properties or in some other way?

You're right, this should be overridable. If you raise a JIRA issue for it we'll take a look at it.
