gavin.king Apr 12, 2007 6:02 PM (in response to modoc)If you're coming to JavaOne, drop me an email. If there will be enough Seam users in town, maybe we should organize some kind of drinks night or something like that....

cptnkirk Apr 12, 2007 6:08 PM (in response to modoc)Up for drinks +1. Do you really want everyone to E-mail? Easier filing system than forum?

saeediqbal1 Apr 12, 2007 6:28 PM (in response to modoc)After the suggestion from Matt Raible, i am moving back to Seam from Spring now i guess the documentation has improved. Gavin what happened to the trainer you guys hired to create courses? Also the wiki is missing the lab for 1.2 here http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=JBossSeamLabs
I am coming to JavaOne and I have registered for all Seam related sessions some with Micheal and some with Gavin. Please advise what other sessions should i go to? i also have registered for alot of JSF related sessions and some ejb3.
I didn't come to the SF meetup last month because i dont drink so if there is any meetup where drinking is not the main attraction, i'm up for it ;)
Anyway i'll start working with seam 1.2 today and lets see how it goes. after my recent experience with JSF i think i'll feel more comfortable. -

robjellinghaus Apr 12, 2007 7:07 PM (in response to modoc)Drinks +1. Don't worry Saeed, the focus was mainly on conversation, not on alcohol per se :-)
I can't make JavaOne (can't get my current employer to spring $1,800 on it, when I can honestly learn most of it off the net), so I'd definitely like there to be some kind of meetup that doesn't require a badge! -
6. Re: JavaOne
cptnkirk Apr 12, 2007 7:20 PM (in response to modoc)Same here Rob. It shouldn't be a problem though, there are plenty of hotels and bars nearby as well as good cab service. I'm not even sure Moscone allows alcohol.

cja987 Apr 14, 2007 3:14 PM (in response to modoc)+1 on meetup (not in moscone), maybe I can make it there this time.

modoc Apr 16, 2007 1:30 PM (in response to modoc)@Michael: already signed up for them both:) It'll be nice to meet you.
@Gavin: count me in for drinks/meetup. There's a ton of nice hotel bars in the area. You want to setup an evite or something? Or I can? Whatever works. -

robjellinghaus May 3, 2007 5:36 PM (in response to modoc)So... any word on this? Gavin is still out of town, apparently...?
I will be at the Seam BoF on Tuesday night at 9 pm, and at the GWT work session / social time at the W Hotel on Wednesday night. It'd be great if the Seam meetup could be some other night so as to not conflict with those two :-) -

modoc May 3, 2007 5:52 PM (in response to modoc)Ok. I setup an evite here:
http://www.evite.com/app/publicUrl/devon@digitalsanctuary.com/seam//www.evite.com/app/publicUrl/devon@digitalsanctuary.com/seam
There's three dates/times, so pick which works best for you. I also picked my hotel's bar as the location since I don't know the area. If there's a better place, let me know and I'll move it.
Regards,
Devon -

michael.yuan May 3, 2007 5:58 PM (in response to modoc)The JBoss Party is also on Wed:
https://www.redhat.com/apps/webform.html?event_type=simple_form&eid=971
It finishes at 8:30pm. Maybe we can hang out after the JBoss Party? I know that conflicts with the Google thingy. Too many parties at J1! ;)
The JBoss crowd will be staying in the W hotel. -
12. Re: JavaOne
modoc May 3, 2007 6:04 PM (in response to modoc)Well crap:) I made dinner plans on wednesday, not knowing about the JBoss party. Maybe I"ll move dinner. Anyhow, would people be up for hanging out after the JBoss party at the W? I can change the evite for that. Or whatever works.

13. Re: JavaOne
robjellinghaus May 3, 2007 6:22 PM (in response to modoc)Sure that's fine. Let's have the JBoss party at the same place as the GWT party! That way I can go to both at the same time! :-D

14. Re: JavaOne
robjellinghaus May 3, 2007 6:24 PM (in response to modoc)Er, let me rephrase: let's have the post-JBoss party Seam hangout at the W Hotel, same as the post-GWT work session party. That will be the best for everyone. TRUST ME ON THIS ;-)
