Can JBOSS and WebLogic easily be run on same virtual server? What issues / conflicts might arise?

Not important to the question but here is why the question is being asked.
Two applications both use WebLogic as the applicataion and web server. One of the applications needs to be installed in a development environment and the client wants to save money by using JBOSS instead of WebLogic in both development and production. Thus, in production JBOSS would be running along side WebLogic.

Yes, you can run both WLS and JBossAS in the same host. Some things to look out for:

1) Make sure there are no port conflicts. The file docs/examples/binding-manager/sample-bindings.xml lists the ports used for 4.0.x and 4.2.x (for 5.0, see server/xxx/conf/binding.xml)
2) Make sure you have enough memory - you will now have two JVMs running.
