FileUpload and Applet

Hello,
I have an application in which the user should upload files either from local and from scanner. For the latter we use an applet and for local files the rich:fileUpload component.
My question is: Once I have the scan saved as a temp file (at the local computer), is it possible to add it to the list of entries of the rich:fileUpload? I've thought of using rich:fileUpload javascript API. Is this too ambitious?

Hello,

It's not possible to add files due to security restrictions. Signed applets are possible to access it, but not the standard HTML elements or Flash objects we use.
