What is the difference between .esb and .sar archives?

As I understand I .sar - standalone service,
but .esb contains set of services? Is it true?

When use .esb and when use .sar?

A .esb archive is used to deploy a service to JBoss ESB.
A .sar archive is used to deploy an MBean (JMX managed bean) to the JBoss app server.
