IncompatibleTransactionScopeException on ServiceInvoker

Hi all,

I'm using the ServiceInvoker to invoke an ESB service within the context of a custom activity in jBPM4. I'm getting this exception whitch I understand from the ESB Programmers guide, nevertheless I just want to make a syncronous call to an ESB Service from jBPM4, how can I do this? Is there a workaround tou overcome the bloking problems?

Hi there.

My understanding is that this can't work in the absense of distributed transactions.

The transactional semantics work in a manner similar to JMS, i.e., messages are not delivered on to a queue (or to an endpoint) until the enclosing transaction has committed. In a synchronous invocation this will result in timeouts if the sending thread is also the terminating thread. ServiceInvoker checks for this and throws an exception.

Thanks for the response. I can understand the reason, but is there a workaround or just there isn't a way of calling an ESB Service from jBPM4? Using the Service Invoker I mean, I'm assuming that a SOAP call will work.
