common submit button for rich:tabs in <rich:tabPanel/>

hi,
how can i place common submit button in rich:tabpanel. i have requirement something like this.

<rich:tabPanel width="98%" >
<rich:tab label="tab1"/>
<rich:tab label="tab2"/>

<h:commandButton value="common submit button"/>
</rich:tabPanel.>

hi,
actually i have two tabs say(student edu details and personal details) user can enter edu details in one tab and other details in second tab. there should be on button for both tabs. when i click on that button data should be saved.i know we can place that button out side <rich:tabPanel>. i want that button inside that <rich:tabPanel/>

Have you tried it this way:

<rich:tabPanel width="98%" >
<rich:tab label="tab1">
...
<h:commandButton value="common submit button"/>
</rich:tab>
<rich:tab label="tab2">
...
<h:commandButton value="common submit button"/>
</rich:tab>
</rich:tabPanel.>

The way you suggest is in my opinion not possible, because tabPanel is only a container for tabs, you can't place other content there.

in that option we are trying to keep same button in two tabs right?. if it is a technical limitation, i will go with that option.

Precisely spoken you have technically two buttons, but you reach your aim that it is only one in the user's view.

...of course only if you place the buttons on the same place in each tab and give them both the same look.

ok thank you. and i have one more doubt here. its not related this post. i already created new post. i have one form and one ajax commandbutton. i click on that button it will submit the form. here i want to know inside java script when that request is completed.

Why don't you use "oncomplete" there? Or did I misunderstood the problem?

actually i am even firing click event on that button using java script. after completing that request i need to fire one more click event on other button.
