marklittle May 23, 2007 2:43 PM (in response to rarondini)Relative to what? You will always see an overhead when using a transaction system that supports 2PC and logging.

rarondini May 23, 2007 3:49 PM (in response to rarondini)Oh, Sorry Marck.
I was very simple im my question.
With default transaction manager, the application performance was ok. After install JBossTM 4.2.2. that application performance decrease.
So, after some performance tests, I detected the contention in TransactionReaper.insert method. -

jhalliday May 23, 2007 3:52 PM (in response to rarondini)What version are you running? 4.2.3.SP3 has a rewritten reaper that performs better than earlier versions.

So, I made some performance tests with JBoss Transaction 4.2.3.
The contention in TransactionReaper still occurs.
With JBoss Transaction, the processing time passed of 2 minutes for 20 minutes.

jhalliday May 25, 2007 2:42 PM (in response to rarondini)If you have the GA installed already you can also just grab the .jar files from http://repository.jboss.com/jboss/jbossts14/4.2.3.SP3/lib/ and put them over the top of the GA ones. You certainly do need the SP3 version though, as the new reaper is not in the GA.
