jBPM 4.2 Eclipse Setup not working on OS X?

    nilspreusker

      Hi all,

whenever I run "ant demo.setup.jboss" on my system, I end up with a broken Eclipse install. I've tried it with jBPM 4.1 and jBPM 4.2 and ended up with the same problem: the Eclipse files are being copied to the Eclipse directory in jbpm.home, but when I try to start Eclipse, nothing happens. Please let me know whether this is a known issue or whether it might have something to do with my system. I'm using OS X Snow Leopard Version 10.6.2.

      Cheers, Nils

          Nils,

If it is a known issue, it is in Jira. If it is is not, please provice more info on 'nothing happens'. Look at the logging in the .metadata folder in your workspace etc... It is hard, well almost impossible, for us to just act on 'nothing happens'

            Ronald,

if there was a JIRA (that I'm aware of) I wouldn't have created this post. I would like to provide more information, but since Eclipse never starts, there is no workspace to look at. The ".metadata" directory in the default workspace "~/workspace" is also empty.

So unfortunately "nothing happens" is all the detail I can provide you with.

I installed Eclipse and the GPD manually for now, which works fine.

I'm sorry but I could not make this up from your post. It is hard to differentiate between someone who realy did not investigate anything and someone who did but just does not mention it. Next time take one minute more and report the steps already taken in the initial post (as a very good document states, one to which I will not link for now)

If realy nothing happens, no logging is available, I'd suggest asking in the Eclipse forums how to go from here. We 'just' know how to write the GPD plugin... Detailed knowledge of Eclipse is left to others.
