there's no public API right now, but if you have Hibernate's Configuration object, you can get the corresponding AuditConfiguration via AuditConfiguration.getFor(Configuration), and there you can access this information.
It would be possible to expose some audit meta-data via AuditReader of course, if you would be willing to contribute a patch, that would be great
