I think to make the portlet work you should also add a facelets library as indicated in the server.log

holgerj Jan 15, 2010 12:01 PM (in response to sorenschmidt)Soren, your links helped a lot. I was expecting that the portlet would show up somewhere by configuration, but it had to be imported. Now the portlet works, but I get some Exceptions in the log. I will try adding the faces library to the WEB-INF/lib folder of the war file. Is jsf-facelets-1.1.15.B1.jar the right version?
Thank you,
Holger

holgerj Jan 15, 2010 12:13 PM (in response to holgerj)Hm, with jsf-facelets-1.1.15.B1.jar I get the following exception in server.log:
18:02:59,822 SEVERE [viewhandler] Error Rendering View[/jsf/welcome.jsp]
com.sun.facelets.FaceletException: Error Parsing /jsf/welcome.jsp: Error Traced[line: 1] The markup in the document preceding the root element must be well-formed.
But the portlet is still rendering fine...

theute Jan 15, 2010 4:59 PM (in response to holgerj)You don't need jsf-facelets. And the execption you may see should be gone in the coming release (If you faced the one I'm thinking about).
As you say that exception should not prevent the portlet to work.
Also in terms of doc please always refer to the official documentation as it is the one that will be maintained:
