Now that HornetQ has reached GA, compatability with future releases

Now that HornetQ has reached it's first stable release I'm wondering what the rules might be regarding compatability with future releases?

      1. Will the AIO/NIO journals automatically upgrade with a new release (or should they be cleared)?
      2. Will different GA releases be compatible with each other? Specifically will multiple different versions of HornetQ be able to communicate with each other via core bridges?

      Cheers,

The JBoss official rules are as follows:

For community projects (i.e. free stuff), we make no guarantees of compatibility between versions.

We will try our best not to break compatibility, or change APIs but there are no guarantees.

For JBoss Enterprise products (i.e paid for stuff) there are strict rules about compatibility and changing APIs. Badkward compatibility is guaranteed between minor releases, APIs are only allowed to change on major releases.
