You can add TinyMCE plugins to the rich:editor component, consult documentation for details. You can try this plugin for Mimetex: http://www.companytools.nl/news/2/66 or another one.

I followed the steps given in that document, I am able to give the rich: editor advanced theam only, I am unable to see the equation editor in that, can you give the example source or steps how to integrate it with existing richfaces3.3.0.jar
