Disk Content Source

Hello All!

I have created a Disk Content Source on JON to provide WAR pkgs.

But when I try sync this content source JON server can't identify the pkg type. See server log output:

WARs and EARs cannot be deployed via content sources. In order to deploy them, you must go to the parent JBossAS Resource's Inventory>Overview tab and choose to Create New Child Resource.

The only package type the jboss-as and jboss-as-5 plugins currently support deploying via content sources are Cumulative Patches (CPs).

There is any plan to support deploy of EJB-JAR/WAR/EAR/SAR pkgs via Content Source subsystem on future versions?

There's some major reworking of the RHQ content subsystem going on now. I don't know yet whether support will be added for deploying EARs and WARs from content sources, but I am hopeful we will at least add support for deploying an EAR or WAR to a group of servers, whether it be via child resource creation or via a content source. I would look in RHQ Bugzilla and see if there's an issue requesting support for deploying EARs and WARs from a content source, and if not, I would create one. I'd also try out the RHQ milestone builds, which we release every few weeks, to see what new content-related functionality has been added.
