ExtendedDataTable versus DataTable

hallo all,

when I have a lot of data in my table and try to sort it, then it take more then 8 sec. In this time I have a wait symbol, when I use ExtendedDataTable.

When I use DataTable, then no wait symbol is shown and the user dont know whether the click worked or not.

Do I have the possibility to switch on this wait symbol also by DataTable????

You could use a4j:status for that using 3.3.x. In the 4.x both tables will have this built-in status functionality.

you are right. I can use a4j:status tag.

is it possible to show only text or picture outside of table?

Or I can bundle it with table and show like for extendedDataTable??

you could use absolute positioning for status elements via css.
