1. Re: welcome page not loaded in jboss 5.1.0
peterj Apr 15, 2010 11:44 AM (in response to anithakothandapani)How are you starting the app server? Do you pass the -b option? If so, and if you are doing:
run -b 16.138.175.153
then the app server is binding only to that IP address. If you want it to bind to both localhost and 16.138.175.153 then you shlould use:
run -b 0.0.0.0

anithakothandapani Apr 16, 2010 12:34 AM (in response to peterj)Hi
Thanks for the reply. But my problem is not in starting jboss , ofcourse I started it with -b option, I am facing issue in accessing the home page of my web application .The problem is when I give the home page url till the context root like this http://localhost:8080/SampleWebApp/ I am not getting the home page.
But when I give the url like this http://localhost:8080/SampleWebApp/login.do I am able to get the home page.
I do have the welcome file mapping in my web.xml. I am not sure how to get the welcome page with http://localhost:8080/SampleWebApp/

peterj Apr 16, 2010 11:12 AM (in response to anithakothandapani)OK, I see that you editied your original post, replacing the IP address with localhost (for the URL that did not work), which completely changes the question. Please post the wlecome file list from web.xml.

4. Re: welcome page not loaded in jboss 5.1.0
anithakothandapani Apr 17, 2010 5:56 AM (in response to peterj)Thanks for the reply. Sorry I have added the IP address by mistake. This is the welcome file list which I use ,in which the welcome jsp is loaded by Spring's org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet
<welcome-file-list> <welcome-file>/login.do</welcome-file> </welcome-file-list>

5. Re: welcome page not loaded in jboss 5.1.0
anithakothandapani May 5, 2010 5:12 AM (in response to anithakothandapani)Solved this issue by adding a login.html page as below
<html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="0; URL=login.do"/> </head> </html>
and in web.xml
<welcome-file-list> <welcome-file>/login.html</welcome-file> </welcome-file-list>
When I directly use /login.do in welcome file list of web.xml and use Spring's dispatcher servlet to load the welcome file, I could not able to get the welcome page by using this url
http://localhost:8080/SampleWebApp/
Instead I need to give like this in jboss http://localhost:8080/SampleWebApp/login.do
But in weblogic if I use /login.do in welcome file list I can able to get the welcome page by using this http://localhost:8080/SampleWebApp/
