anonymous and non-anonymous give access to exactly the same sources. The reason you can't checkout that branch is that it does not exist anymore, as that version has been tagged for release.
So, you need to use http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/jbossws/common/tags/jbossws-common-1.2.2.GA/ (please note "tags" instead of "branches").

From my understanding of Subversion, 'tags' are used to mark releases, 'branches' are used to identify parallel code development and patch streams
