alesj Sep 29, 2008 10:04 AM (in response to reneleonhardt)I found the cause of this:
So, I'll check with our security guys,
if they can follow up on this. -

reneleonhardt Sep 29, 2008 10:24 AM (in response to reneleonhardt)Thank you very much, I am getting this error since I tried JBoss 5 (I started with Beta4).

alesj Sep 29, 2008 10:32 AM (in response to reneleonhardt)What is your security usage in this app?
No need for details :-),
more of a what JBoss Security mechanisms are you using.
Eventually it should be the security guys to ask more specific questions,
but 'we' can already lay as much info as possible for them to resolve your issue. -

sguilhen Sep 29, 2008 2:47 PM (in response to reneleonhardt)I have an idea about what may be going on, but to confirm my theory I need more information about your deployment. How is your ear file formed? Does it contain nested jars/wars? Do these nested jars/wars have yet another nested jars?

anil.saldhana Sep 29, 2008 5:22 PM (in response to reneleonhardt)Are you able to create a test EAR that reproduces this issue? If you can create an ear, then you can attach it to a new JIRA issue, so that we can investigate.
As a start, can you please tell us what your EAR contains? -
6. Re: DeploymentException: No Attribute found with name: Polic
reneleonhardt Sep 30, 2008 3:32 AM (in response to reneleonhardt)Yes, you're right, the EAR contains JARs (including the EJB JAR) and a WAR.
In addition, the WAR contains some JARs.
I will try to make an example EAR.
I assume the nested file list is not enough... ;) -

nxsimon Oct 15, 2008 11:05 PM (in response to reneleonhardt)I have the same "No Attribute found with name: PolicyConfigurationFacadeMBean" problem during startup in jboss-5.0.0.CR1.
There was no problem previously using jboss-4.0.2.
I have an EAR file which contain JAR and WAR file which contains other JAR lib files.
I moved the JARs from the JAR in EAR file to Jboss/lib and it starts up without problem now. -

The best thing to do would be to come up with a simple EAR which demonstrates this issue and create a JIRA and attach it there. That way, the developers will be able to fix the issue in future releases.

reneleonhardt Dec 8, 2008 5:15 AM (in response to reneleonhardt)JBoss 5.0.0.GA still cannot handle nested JARs inside an EAR (like 4.0.x and 4.2.x could do without problems).

What's the problem?
Or cannot handle it in what way? -

ngtdave Sep 14, 2009 10:04 AM (in response to reneleonhardt)Okay, I am going to try to bring this thread back to life. I am experiencing the same problem:
java.lang.RuntimeException: No Attribute found with name: PolicyConfigurationFacadeMBean for...
I am a set of applications which previously worked in JBoss 4.2.3.GA and I am now trying to run them in JBoss 5.1.0.GA.
We use JAAS tied to ldap for our security.
We deploy exploded ears inside of another exploded ear so our deployment looks like this:deploy/main.ear/ + a.ear/ # a1.jar # a2.jar + b.ear/ # b1.jar # b2.jar + foo.war + bar.war
As mentioned by alesj:
I found the cause of this:
From what I can tell, he's right, as I have no mention of "PolicyConfigurationFacadeMBean" in any of my files.
But I can't nail down how I'm supposed to fix this.
Any help would be great! -

ngtdave Sep 14, 2009 11:17 AM (in response to reneleonhardt)I have updated https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBAS-5980 with a very simple example.

13. Re: DeploymentException: No Attribute found with name: Polic
ngtdave Sep 15, 2009 10:21 AM (in response to reneleonhardt)Based on some comments on the linked Jira, I think I've narrowed it down to putting all the ejb-jars into the lib directory of any ears and removing them from the application.xml files. I am stuck on another problem, but I think that may have solved the problem in this thread.

14. Re: DeploymentException: No Attribute found with name: Polic
glyph5 May 10, 2010 12:41 PM (in response to ngtdave)Just wanted to open this thread up again as I have encountered the same issue.
The EAR application (and subsequent nested EAR files) I am trying to deploy has a WAR file that contains no JAR files only .class, .jsp, context.xml, and web.xml files.
The EAR structure I am using is:
application.ear->child1.ear->grandchild1.war
application.ear->child2.ear->grandchild2.war
I am stumped on why this issue is occuring, any help is greatly appreciated.
