Access inputNumberSlider on client

I could not find a way to modify the value of a inputNumberSlider on the client using Javascript. Any suggestion?

I double the question. Do I have to submit a form and reRender in order to change the value? It would be very convenient to chang the value from Javascript instead. Is this possible?
