Using of own taglib in jsf

Hello,

I'm newby in JSF, therefore is maybe this question inappropiate.

It is possible to define in the file web.xml a taglib from JSP and use the tags contained there?

Hi Alfredo,

yes this is possible:

1. define "facelets.LIBRARIES"

<context-param>
   <param-name>facelets.LIBRARIES</param-name>
   <param-value>
     /WEB-INF/facelets/foo.taglib.xml;/WEB-INF/facelets/bar.taglib.xml;
   </param-value>
</context-param>

2. create the taglib

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE facelet-taglib PUBLIC  "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Facelet Taglib 1.0//EN" "http://java.sun.com/dtd/facelet-taglib_1_0.dtd">

<facelet-taglib>

    <namespace>http://www.mymita.com/foo</namespace>

    <tag>
      <tag-name>timeline</tag-name>
      <source>snippet/timeline.xhtml</source>
    </tag>
</facelet-taglib>

3. use the taglib (here in a faclets-template - jsp should be the same)

<ui:composition xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:foo="http://www.mymita.com/foo">
     <foo:timeline/>
</ui:composition>
