Make rich:datatable single column header to transparent.

I have got a rich:datatable with 6 columns. But i dont want the table header and table footer for the first column,ie i want it to be transparent.For the actually data this first column contains a check box and its background can be made transparent by giving style="background: transparent;" for the datatable.But i cant do it for the first column table header.Its will always show default skin background in the first column.Please help ?

use headerClass attribute of the column.

where 'noBackGrnd' styleClass has value background: transparent;

Still the first column shows default skin background for first column.

If you use column group and column in the header as at the demo and so the header cell is just the corresponding column content you need to define not headerClass but its styleClass.

b.t.w. in such cases I suggest you to play with firebug in order to check applied styles.

Ya now it works in IE but not in FF.

I think i need to avoid 'dr-table-headercell rich-table-headercell' classes in order to make the column transparent.

Any idea of how to do it ? This issue may looks simple but its important to me as my UI in not looking good wit tis...

why you just not using background:none; ?
