form validation using rich:messages

Hi ,

I have a form . I have kept the validators for the form so as to notify the user of the minimum number of characters to be entered as inputs.

Say i have three text boxes ,

can i have the second and the third text box disabled first and on the correct user input of the first text box , then enable second check box

Is this possible

Could somebody give me some idea on how to do it

You can do it with JS or add a4j:support on valueChange event for the first input and reRender the other elements. (I suppose that they must have an attribute disabled)

But if i rerender them then i cant see all the three textboxes at first right ?

Then only i can see the first checkbox when the page first time loads ?

No, I mean you can use EL condition in a disabled attribute of your elements. So you will rerender them at the moment when a user entered data in the first input. And they will become enabled.
