How to update data model before an external link ?

I'm looking for a solution to update the datamodel before an external link... I'm using richfaces 3.3.3.

Is there any richfaces ajax solution to update a managedbean just before executing an external link ?

Doe it means that before a user is to be redirected to an external site by some link you want to perform an action with JSF bean?

If so you can try to use jsFunction to send some data but anyway you need to it in JS on page manually.
