Creating queues on-the-fly

Hi,

Can a queue be created at run-time (i.e. there is some API that allows creating a queue) or the only way of creating queues in via config. file ?

yes either by the core API or the management API's, take a look at the user manual.

and is it possible to create it on demand (i.e. when a JNDI lookup is performed, create the queue if it does not exist)

We have no control over what jndi does, its a completely different project, we just happen to use the jboss jndi service to bind our objects to, so no, destinations cant be created on a jndi lookup.
