rich data table highlight changes

Hi,

We have a rich-data table on which we have a a4j:poll every 5 secs. Is there a way to highlight the changed data ?

P.S. I do not think having 5 sec update interval could be scallable solution. In case of numerous views server could be overloaded with such update requests. I think push fits such frequent updates case better.
