I am in China, how to change the defualt language from English to Chinese?

Hello,

You should be able to achieve that by modifying the   <locale>en</locale> entry in the portal.xml file of your portal. For example for the default classic portal you can modify the $GATEIN_HOME//webapps/portal/WEB-INF/conf/portal/portal/classic/portal.xml file.

Keep in mind that GateIn is also using the browser default language and the user language to select the locale to use.

Just for clarification, by default the language to display will be taken from precedence of User/Browser/Portal as long as the language is supported in GateIn

Let's say that in non-authenticated mode :

• Your browser's language is French and it's supported in GateIn, it is always displayed in French
• Your browser's language is French but it is not supported in GateIn, then it takes Chinese from Portal if it's supported by GateIn
