Is auto client failover with cluster possible?

According to the manual, auto client failover to backup server is possible.

I set up a cluster with two server A and B. Then create a consumer and connect to A. If I shutdown A, the consumer did not failover to B and after reconnectAttemps the consumer gave up on reconecting.

As long as you have a backup configured and the connection factory configured preoperly yes, i would start with one of the examples shipped with the distro

Do you mean live-backup group with shared store? Is client failover possible without live-backup group and just failover to another server in the cluster?

no, you need a dedicated backup server to failover to.
