1. Re: metamatrix to teiid transition - SQL syntax question
shawkins Oct 21, 2011 12:39 PM (in response to fsauer65)Hi Frank,
That would be a Teiid 7.5 bug the lookahead parsing depth does not consider expressions used as the first argument. It would work if you use the ansi syntax substring(RTRIM(MED.BATDAT) FROM 4 FOR 4). I'll log a JIRA.

shawkins Oct 21, 2011 1:14 PM (in response to shawkins)Just a follow-up, this is a hard error in Designer, since the transformation editor will turn the ansi sql back into substring(RTRIM(MED.BATDAT), 4, 4). Unfortunately you would have to use an inline view to work around this in Designer - e.g. select substring(MED.BATDAT, 4, 4) from (select BATDAT FROM FCC.MEDMAS) AS MED

3. Re: metamatrix to teiid transition - SQL syntax question
fsauer65 Oct 21, 2011 1:59 PM (in response to shawkins)This is a bit of a showstopper for us since we have to move of off metamatrix and onto EDS to keep support...
Do you have any idea how long it would take to fix this? Is there a different version of designer that comes with or works with EDS?
If you can point me in the right direction I can take a stab at it myself - I have worked on eclipse plugins before, but it's been a while...
Thanks,
Frank

4. Re: metamatrix to teiid transition - SQL syntax question
shawkins Oct 21, 2011 2:48 PM (in response to fsauer65)If you are working with EDS, then this won't affect you. Only if you are using a Designer based off of Teiid 7.5 would this occur. The EDS 5.1 release version of Designer, or any 7.4.x Designer release would work as expected.

fsauer65 Oct 21, 2011 3:04 PM (in response to shawkins)I am unaware of an EDS version of designer, where can I find that??? It is not part of the EDS 5.1 download nor can I find it on the download site...

shawkins Oct 21, 2011 3:32 PM (in response to fsauer65)1 of 1 people found this helpfulYou will want the JBDS version that is for use with EDS 5.1. GSS should be able to give you the download link for that. Seems like the EDS site should be updated to have a link to JBDS.
