gaohoward Nov 10, 2011 3:14 AM (in response to underscore_dot)I think so. Or some kind of SAN type solution will do too.

underscore_dot Nov 10, 2011 6:52 AM (in response to underscore_dot)As far as I know a SAN allows you to share a disk, but does not ensure data consistency (I may be wrong here). To keep data consistency you need a cluster filesystem (like GFS) [1].
In the user manual I read "todo write something about GFS" [2], and in section "39.1.1.1. Data Replication" of the same manual "Replication will be available in the next release of HornetQ".
So, according to the user manual, looks like the only alternative is sharing storage, but it is not clear how to do this and keep its consistency.
How are you guys configuring HA?
Many thanks in advance.

3. Re: GFS and HA
ataylor Nov 10, 2011 6:58 AM (in response to underscore_dot)data inconsistency is not an issue since only one HornetQ server actually writes to disk at any one time. Regarding replication, this should be available very soon.

underscore_dot Nov 10, 2011 7:03 AM (in response to underscore_dot)So, I assume using any of the filesystems (ext2, ext3, ext4, jfs, xfs) mentioned in "Chapter 15. Persistence" with a shared storage will suffice.
Lots of thanks.
