- roll your own code to connect / disconnect / perform queries (I'd suggest using a JNDI datasource)
- take a look at something like this (http://code.google.com/p/breakingwoods/wiki/JBossESBApacheDBUtils), either to use or to get ideas for building your own
There's nothing really out-of-the-box in this area though, although if you search the forums you'll probably find lots of examples of others doing this sort of thing.
