I'd suggest using JBoss AS7 if you can: https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/ISPN/Getting+Started+Guide+-+JBoss+AS+7
For 2LC in AS7, the only thing you need to add to your JPA app is:
<property name="hibernate.cache.region.factory_class">org.hibernate.cache.infinispan.JndiInfinispanRegionFactory</property>
<property name="hibernate.cache.infinispan.cachemanager">java:CacheManager/entity</property>

For the moment we are using JBoss 5.0.1 and will have a idea to move to AS7.
