url-rewriting instead of cookies

is there a possibility to change the default behaviour of a webapplication using richfaces from cookies to url-rewriting?

Check web container settings, RF uses JSF API that wraps Servlet or Portlet API to provide access to session.

Do you have a link/example/documentation?? Do I have to edit my web.xml to change this behaviour? What kind of params do I have to add?
