1. Re: Migrating from Seam 2.2.1 to Seam 3.0.0.CR1
lightguard Mar 9, 2011 12:28 PM (in response to manjupriya)Many of those classes do not exist in Seam 3. This is not a drop in the new jars and upgrade migration. We're working on a migration strategy.

manjupriya Mar 9, 2011 2:13 PM (in response to manjupriya)Is there any set timeline for the migration guide?
For now, is there anyway I can proceed with Seam 3? -

ssachtleben.ssachtleben.gmail.com Mar 10, 2011 5:32 AM (in response to manjupriya)Migration is not that easy. I have also migrated a full webapplication from seam 2.2.0 to 3.0.0 and there are several parts to rewrite. Also some parts are not covered by seam 3 yet. Currently I suggest to stick with seam 2 on older projects and just use seam 3 on new projects.

4. Re: Migrating from Seam 2.2.1 to Seam 3.0.0.CR1
manjupriya Mar 10, 2011 11:01 AM (in response to manjupriya)We are doing this massive upgrade of all technologies for a web application. Just finished with the Hibernate, Spring and Aspect upgrades for the services layer. Web layer uses My Faces and Seam. I have migrated to Hibernate Validator 4.x and b'coz seam 2.x is tied to Hibernate validator 3.x versions, I have to migrate it to Seam 3.x.
We have been given a set deadline for this whole upgrades and I can't go back on Hibernate version, as it would be 2 months of my wasted time.
Is it possible to outline the major changes that has to be done for Seam 3.x?

zeeman Mar 14, 2011 12:57 PM (in response to manjupriya)It would be great to have a migration guide that shows in details how to migrate from Seam 2.2 to Seam 3.x.
I have talked to Dan Allen and provided him with some requirements. To see them or to add your own see
