BTW, I ask this because I have one solution I am going to post on the knowledge base. I think it works pretty nice, just wanted to know what others do....
I know the samples/wiki that comes with seam uses option #2 and it's scary.

Did this a long time ago using Shale remoting and the ROME library. ROME was really nice and easy to use.
I didn't cache the generated feeds or anything and wouldn't use shale remoting today.The simplest thing I can think of would be to use ROME with a page action.
Also seen some examples of using pure facelets for generating RSS feeds, ROME however allows you to generate 10 different feed formats from the same model.

I am currently breathing to keep myself from blowing up.
I am going into my liquor cabinet. brbOk, so why isn't this gem in any freaking documentation?!?!?!?!?!
Gonna patch this in the docs tommorrow.
