How to submit form over ssl from insecure html page

Hello all!

i have a small question what is not necessary correlate with the main idea of this forum.

I need to submit a login snippet over SSL from a totally insecure HTML page and i'm searching for an elegant solution with seam, richfaces and jsf. We have already implemented a dedicated login page and it works fine over SSL but it's not very handy as a small login snippet in header could be.

Set the post of your form to a SSL URL? You will get browser warnings though ('some parts of this page are not secure' or some such).

And with JSF/Richfaces?

Well, JSF does a postback, so I guess one way is to use frames to include your JSF login page into the parent page.
Or just do your login with a plain HTML form.
