Seams Hot Deploy causing problems

Is there any flag in seam config to turn off all this seam hot-deploy stuff.

Its causing havok and means I keep having to stop and restart the server just for hacking .xhtml pages and this is slowing me down considerably.

Hot-Synch with MyEclipse is the way I have worked for years with seam and worked perfectly well... this Seam hot-deploy stuff is very frustrating to have to keep stopping the server when I didn't have to before!

I am sure you people still using Ant/Maven may appreciate it but those that just want to get a project out are getting rather frustrated!

Having no problems now.

Using latest MyEclipse (8.5M2) and latest Seam (2.2.1).

No Ant/Maven or anything in project at all! it's back to rapid development setup again.

Got to love hot-synch from MyEclipse.

No idea what the problem. It just went away.

Try disabling the hot-redeploy filter:

Good thing to know.

Just to be clear. Hot deploy has absolutely nothing to do with hot-synch from myeclipse.

The other ide's prob have something similar by now.

Hot deploy was interfering with hot synch when I was having problems; as hot deploy was trying to restart jboss whilst at same time myeclipse was trying to synch a file I had changed from source area to exploded deployed area in server!

Hot deploy was useful (marginally) when config files were changed as I would have had to restart jboss anyhow but was very very annoying if a body file changed as server did not need to be restarted.

Good news it it seems to work ok now.

I change the xhtml and refresh the page and no change... I have to refresh repeatedly until the page change happens in the browser after saving the cahnged source file.

Just to recap: I don't have a build script! I use features of MyEclipse called exploded deployment (which to my knowledge just explodes the Ear directly into the Jboss server area and keeps them in synch.) Project MUST be in Ear format in MyEclipse.

It seems this feature of seam (added last year) is causing hassle to a few of my team now as we have to repeatedly stab away at the refresh browser button (and occasionally add in xxxxxxx and save again) to know that a change has limped its way through Seam/MyEclipse to the screen.

Is Seam Caching stuff waiting for period of time before allowing cahnges to propogate perhaps and if so how do we turn this feature off.

Added up over a number of people this is causing a considerable amount of wasted time (and frustration) now.

To add more detail...

I am looking at the file that gets updated in

C:\jboss-5.1.0.GA\server\default\deploy\Eventis.ear\EventisWeb.war

in this case

home.xhtml

It does get updated when I save the file in MyEclipse

however... when I refresh the browser page the change does not take effect for quite a while.

Something (in saem or JBoss 5.1) is stalling.

Please can anyone advise.
