jQuery and JSF

Is there a way of resolving JSF id naming convention to work properly with jQuery?

Unfortunately you have to espace the : in jQuery.

$("#foo\\:bar")

What you also can do inside a form, is use

<h:form id="willNotShow" prependId="false"> 

Then jsf will not put the id on its children. Makes things a little easier

I wrote a javascript function to help me with that:

function escapeIdForJQuery(id) {
     return id.replace(/:/g,"\\:").replace(/\./g,"\\.");
}

You run that with document ready handler on all pages?
