Executing page actions before validation phase?

Hi there,
i just wonder if it is possible to let the page actions execute even before validation phase is entered? Or is there another way to configure code to be executed before validation phase?

you can create a4j:button with immediate=true (button could be even not-visible) and trigger it via javascript, page.xml specified action is executed strictly in the JSF lifecycle.
